Helping yourself during a cystitis attack
Other than taking Canesten Oasis, the following "do's" and "dont's" can help relieve your discomfort and may help prevent cystitis attacks.
DO
- Drink plenty of water, especially during the 48 hours of treatment.
- Pass water as soon as you feel the urge. This will enable your body to "flush through" the impurities (bacteria).
- Pass water whenever you feel the need, do not try to hold it in and always make sure you empty your bladder completely.
- Try to pass water before and after intercourse
- Use white unbleached toilet tissue.
- Always wipe from front to back, to avoid passing germs from the anus to the urethra.
DON'T
- Drink alcohol, coffee, tea or acidic fruit juices as they are likely to make the symptoms worse.
- Use perfumed soaps and bubble baths, or vaginal deodorants.
Contains Sodium Citrate. Always read the label
