Clotrimazole also has anti-bacterial properties, giving the secondary benefit of killing certain bacteria which can cause the feet to smell. Canesten Hydrocortisone additionally contains Hydrocortisone, an anti-inflammatory to reduce the soreness and irritation of inflamed athlete’s foot.

It is important to check your feet regularly because, despite being called athlete's foot, anyone can get it and it's actually very common. Some people leave their athlete's foot alone in the hope that it may vanish, but unfortunately without proper treatment this is not likely to happen and the infection may in fact become inflamed and painful.

Canesten Hydrocortisone is available from your pharmacy and should be thinly applied twice daily to the affected parts and rubbed in gently. It should not be used for more than seven days.
